Writing & the Passion to Write

Eli Benjamin once wrote, "you have to have VISION, GUTS & PASSION"...

In other words, what Eli was trying to say was that you need to know what to do in the long run a.k.a. how you would picture or see yourself in the future; you need to be brave enough to overcome all fears and face the music, seek out new challenges, strive on and be bold enough to take the risk or leap forward; and above all else, you need to do it with your heart...

To tell you the truth, I love to write. Although I may be indolent at times when it comes to putting a thought or two into my laptop or a diary or a note book for that matter, to be honest, I love to write...

Yeapp, that natural and innate feeling inside me that urges me to put a two cent worth for people to ponder, or just for the sake of blabbering it out. I may not be endowed with the fluidity and flair in writing like all those well-renowned writers all over the world, neither am I a daring and beyond-this-world creative stickler like Amir Muhammad and such... but I do have my fair share of ability, a tinge of dexterity when it comes to pen and papers.

But, I believe, most of all I have the desire to prove it (and to prove to myself in particular) that I could actually "play with the pen" or in this day and age, "play with the keyboards", and come up with something of value, if not for everyone to behold, rather adequate for my own personal consumption.

I must admit, it was an arduous task for me just to come up with a line or two back then. Yeappp!!! The INDOLENCE IN ME was too thick a wall to break through. But, I have made a PROMISE TO MYSELF, and that I must keep... and that is to keep on writing about anything whatsoever, for as long as it makes sense to me and to anyone who happens to read it.

Life is such that whatever we do, be it right or wrong, sometimes there is always a second chance...

One peculiar story each day... on life’s little irrelevancies.

30 May 2007 – I do not know why I have chosen this very day to continue writing on this blog, after a long hiatus of almost a year. And this time, I have made a pledge to myself – that I am going to put down a thought, a note, or anything that I could actually think of at any point of time, EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Now, that seems like an arduous task for me prior to this. But right now, I have to make more than just an effort to carry it through. Not so much because I’d like to show off my writing skills, which frankly I don't think I have that much. But more or less to share with the rest of the world some parts of me which I feel would be worth sharing.

Above all, I would like this blog to be considered almost like a memoriam of thoughts and experiences for my future recollection - just in case my life is shorter than I expected.

The truth is, every Tom, Dick, Nina & Pinky has a story to tell. Be it long or short, serious or funny, peculiar or straightforward. Whether or not it is worth telling out loud, now, that is a different story.

But I would like to believe that every little thing we do has values, be it good or bad. Every little thing is what makes life more interesting.

Hence, I am about to embark on a journey of myriad heights and facets – replete with rhymes, soulful tunes and sighs.
